legal, but readable
privacy.

tl;dr
We operate redirects and count them. A hit on a link records a counter's worth of data, with the network address dropped within 24 hours. No cookies on redirects, no fingerprinting, no ad tech, nothing sold to anyone, ever. This website itself runs no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
when you open a link
Serving a redirect means receiving a request; from each one we keep:
- the slug that was requested, and the timestamp;
- a country-level location derived from the network address;
- a device class (mobile / desktop / tablet) derived from the user-agent string.
The raw network address is used only to serve the request and screen abuse, then dropped from our records within 24 hours. No cookie is set, no identifier is attached, and nothing we retain can single you out. Per-link stats are kept for 12 months, then only as aggregate totals.
The destination you're forwarded to is chosen by the link's key-holder and operates under its own privacy practices. Your address bar shows that destination the moment you arrive; nothing of ours rides along.
when you hold a key
Accounts are minimal: your email, your key, your links and their settings, your plan status, and whatever you've emailed us. Card details live with our payment processor and never pass through our systems. We email you about your account — receipts, security notices, replies — and that's the complete list; there is no newsletter you were silently opted into.
this website
Static pages, self-hosted fonts aside from Google Fonts' CDN, and zero analytics or tracking scripts. The playground on the homepage runs entirely in your browser — what you type into it is never transmitted.
what we don't do
- Sell, rent, share, or "partner" your data to anyone.
- Set cookies on redirect responses.
- Fingerprint devices or build profiles of people who open links.
- Put interstitials, frames, or trackers between a link and its destination.
disclosure
Infrastructure vendors that host and deliver the service process data on our behalf under their confidentiality terms. Beyond that, we disclose records only when legally compelled, and then only the minimum the demand actually covers.
your data, your call
Key-holders can get an export or a full deletion by emailing privacy@site-shortner.link. If you merely opened a link and want to know what we hold about you: almost certainly nothing attributable, and you're welcome to write to the same address and make us check.
changes
Material changes get a new date up top and an email to key-holders before they take effect. This page stays short; if it ever balloons into twelve scrollbars of hedging, assume something went wrong with us.
